Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Macro-moths blog and the Micro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Foxglove Pug - Eupithecia pulchellata.

Foxglove Pug - Eupithecia pulchellata. A Macro moth species from the family of Geometridae, sub family Larentiinae. The moth has a wingspan of 18-22 mm. Quite a brightly coloured member of the Pug family. Its favours habitats are open ground, woodland, and a range of other habitats where its foodplant is found. The moths can be found on the wing from May to July and are easily attracted to light. The species' life history is the larvae feed inside the flowers of Foxglove, consuming the stamens and developing seeds. A common and widely distributed species in Britain. This species is classified as common.
