Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Barred Marble-Celypha striana

Barred Marble-Celypha striana A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae, subfamily Olethreutinae. The moth has a wingspan of 16 to 22 mm. It is distinguished from other Celypha sp. by the strongly developed median fascia in the forewing. The moth's preferred habitat is open grassy areas. The species is on the wing from dusk between June and August, being attracted to light. The larvae feed on Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), boring into the roots. It is widespread and classified as a common species in the UK.
