Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Dotted Oak Knot-horn - Phycita roborella.

The adults of this quite attractive species have a subtle pattern of red, black, and grey on the upper wings. Its habitat is in well-wooded areas, especially those containing Oak. This moth can be found on the wing between May and July. The species' life history is that the larvae feed on Oak, spinning leaves together with silk. This species is classified as common in the UK.
