Painted Neb - Eulamprotes wilkella

Painted Neb - Eulamprotes wilkella A micro moth species from the family of Gelechiidae , subfamily Anomologinae. The moth has a wingspan of 8 to 10mm. Creamy-yellow head and three silver bands across the forewing on the nominate form. Its preferred habitat is shingle beaches, and sandy areas, usually on the coast. This moth is on the wing in June and August. And has two generations. The species’ life history is the larvae foodplant is moss. The species status is classified as Nationally Scarce B in the UK.
