Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Macro-moths blog and the Micro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

There are several variations, but usually with the reddish-brown ground colour and white or orange reniform stigmata.

The small 'satellites' on either side of the stigma can be obscure, especially in worn individuals.

The moth has a wingspan of 32-42 mm.

The moth as one generation from September to April.

The moth's habitat favours Broad-leaved woodland, parks and gardens.

The larvae feed on several deciduous trees and also have a carnivorous tendency towards larvae of other species.

The moth is widespread and classified nationally as a Common species of the UK.
