Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Rosy Tabby - Endotricha flammealis

Rosy Tabby - Endotricha flammealis A micro moth species from the family of Pyralidae, subfamily Pyralinae. The moth has a wingspan of 18 to 23 mm. Another species which has an unusual resting posture. The front part of the body is raised on the forelegs, and the wings are held at an angle, with the edges touching the resting surface. Its habitat is gardens, heathland, woodland, fens, grassland, and scrub. The moth is on the wing from July to August when it comes to light. The species’ life history is that the larvae feed initially on a range of plants and bushes and later amongst leaf litter. It occurs mainly in the southern half of Britain. The species is classified as local in the UK.
